The first Muslim family settled in Medicine Hat in 1979. Over the past four decades, the Muslim community in the city and surrounding area has grown to more than 1,000 members.
Medicine Hat Mosque, operated by the Islamic Association of Medicine Hat, serves as a central place of worship and community gathering for local Muslims.
