The Saamis Tepee is one of Medicine Hat’s most iconic landmarks and the tallest tepee in the world at 215 feet. Originally constructed for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, the structure was later moved to Medicine Hat as a lasting tribute to Indigenous culture. The site features interpretive panels that share the history and traditions of Indigenous peoples in the region. A must-see attraction for visitors and residents alike, the Saamis Tepee combines cultural education with breathtaking views of the South Saskatchewan River Valley.
